Analysis of the teen movie 'Easy A'

At the very beginning of the film the music is very upbeat and moving, we then see various snaps of the area such as the local town, the Ojai sign and the American flag. We also see Ojai North High School  and hear the school bell which suggests that the film is going to be teen related. In the next scene we're shown the whole school in a point of view shot and we see loads of students walking around, this makes it more believable that it is a school environment. During this there is a voice over of a girl telling her story and her position at Ojai North. The director uses a a track movement shot to show all the different subcultures at the school. The first time we binary opposition is between teachers and students. The characters are all dressed to their part, the students all look young and are dress accordingly to how young people are dressed and the teachers are dressed more smartly so it is easy to tell them apart. The director also uses a flashback to give us an insight of why the girl doesn't want to go on a camping trip with her friend and her family.

In the next scene the director speeded up the paced to show how fast rumours speed in high school and it also shows everyone talking about the rumour or receiving a text about it.
